The more interesting question: Do you care more about the GUI designer
in lazarus or about using Pascal?

AFAIK for gtk there are some gui designers, too.

If you code in C you'll get more users and contributors, that alone
would make me use C. After all the difference is not that big, and for C
nice IDE's exist as well (eg Eclipse CDT) and many others.
