There's actually two problems.

The first is the compile error.  --enable-vala is enabled by default, which builds the VAPI file.  However, in order to build the VAPI, gexiv2 must be installed.  Thus, this shouldn't be a default build target.  I'll look into fixing this right away.  In the interim if you use the --disable-vala configure flag, you should be able to complete the build.

As far as --enable-introspection, the configure scripts do some Python tests to verify that GI is available, and it looks like those tests are failing for some reason.  I can reproduce it here, I'll look into that as well.

I'm trying to build the new version for fedora-21 (rawhide), but I can't enable introspection even if I pass the --enable-introspection flag to configure. Can you please take a look at the log to see if I'm doing something wrong?
