Hey Ryan,
I'm afraid nobody might take the time to implement this. When I asked for something far more minor (the ability to disable Ctrl+D in any way), nobody cared, the issue was closed as "duplicate" of a 10 year old "wontfix" bug and later someone mentioned that gedit is currently an unmaintained project. Asking on this mailing list for a reason against my suggestion, nobody even took the time to explain it.
Best regards
Tobias Frei
_______________________________________________Notepad++ has a brilliant killer feature. Say you are using a few different tabs to track random temporary bits of information that you don't need, and your computer crashes, it will still have the contents of those files next time you start Notepad++. It sounds unnecessary, and I "know you should constantly save all your files" but if you have worked with it you will see how useful it is.Maybe gedit could have such a feature.
