I do not think we have a proper API for that, but in 3.12 you should be able to simply get the "app.quit" action from the GeditApplication instance and activate it. Maybe something similar can be done with the old GtkAction code...

Should this still available (such as in version 3.6.x or later)? I'm unable to check right now.
