[gedit-list] How do I set 4 tab with spaces as default ?

Hi,

Been using gedit for years and very happy with it on OpenSuSE.

However, now it requires me to set the tab 4 and use spaces every 
freaking time I want to use it with python.
It seems the default edit prefs tab has disappeared?

Is there a way to please, please pleaseeeee set this up as default or is 
there an place I can download the older version.

This is driving me NUTs!
