[gedit-list] Tabs

Dear Sir:

I have a request. How can I disable the use of tabs? I wish to use gedit  
with gFTP, but when opening multiple files (say, one remote and one local)  
the file saves alright to tmp, but the changes to remote don't upload. So  
to resolve, it's best to use an editor which doesn't use tabs, or has  
tabbing turned off. Is there a way to do this?
