Along time ago i decided to testwrite a "make" GUI frontend in gtk.
Now I have reimplemented the code as a gedit plugin :-)
Take a look at a very very beta at:
http://webdav.tielie.com/gedit-plugins/husband/
Notice this software is very beta and is a fast hack and has lots of
ugly coding. The gcc/make parser is really ugly written and we should
use a better regular expression algoritm for it but atleast it hmm...
works (I hope ;-)
Also the GUI is not that good and I need to implement menu/keyboard
shortcuts so it will be simpler to compile.
Btw. you need to manually install the files in your /gnome2/gedit/plugin
dir. because the automake stuff does NOT work.
TODO:
* Better docs
* Keyboard shortcuts
* fix automake stuff (I really HATE automake mess :-(
* send info about it to: http://live.gnome.org/GeditPlugins page
* Maybe rename plugin to something better :-) Btw. Husband is the same
as "make" in swedish thats why i used that name :-)
Other gedit-plugins by me:

Other plans:
Right now I have started an idea to make a GDB frontend...
