[gedit-list] Regular Expressions

Is regular expression support already being written for the replace and/or
find?  

I am planning on writing a plugin to do a replace with support for regular
expressions.  Later I might be willing to implement regular expression support
in the standard find and replace, but don't wan't to try to do that yet
because I'm new to linux development and am also still working with gedit
0.9.7.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
