[Geary] Draft not saved?

I must be doing something wrong. 

1. I started a reply, and entered some text. 
2. Then clicked away. Geary gave me two buttons, "Cancel" and "Close". 
3. i clicked Close. 
4. When i returned to the draft, in Drafts folder, the text i had previously entered was missing. 

What am i doing wrong?
