...continued: I'm watching closer now and the message does briefly 
appear beneath the message I'm replying to, as the wheel spins. Then a 
Geary message appears so fast I can't read it and the reply disappears.

I also have noticed (related perhaps) that Geary is more lazy about 
updating the time a message on-screen is from: like "13m ago".

This threading issue has happened with two different IMAP servers. I 
save sent messages on the server. Thanks...
