Note however the version you are running (0.12.0) is quite old, and the 
current version (0.12.3) contains a number of bug fixes. I highly 
recommend you upgrade to the that latest version. You can either file a 
bug against Mint to ask them to upgrade their package, or install Geary 
from Flathub (preferably) or from the Geary Team PPA:

That's correct. There's an open bug requesting this feature however 
with some discussion here:

I'm not sure, but there's a good chance it won't still work if it 
hasn't been updated in the last year or so.
