I have to interupt you here, it looks like you misunderstood me: All I
asked for was to remove the include directive from the main header file.
It is absolutely ok that the gdome library itself depends on glib. Let me
assure you that the dependency on glib is _not_ the cause of the linking
problems that we are facing with the windows port. (The precompiled glib
dll that we use does _not_ depend on cygwin.)

See here, I was even suggesting to use yet another function from glib.

Regarding the windows port: Now may be the time to start to hold your
breath -- I think I'm almost there, this time using the MinGW compiler.
