I've been using Debian Lenny (2.20.7-3) and Ubuntu 8.04 (2.20-7) GDMs.

And mdm is free software (GPL 2).

Currently I have little time to test new stuff, but testing these
patches is certainly in my TODO list. When I get some time to test
them, I'll send some feedback =)
