Cool!  Thanks a lot.  I've committed this with two changes.

* removed a spurious tab from applet.c
* restore the "gboolean res" to gdm_slave_run_script and use the
result to free the error
and show a warning.

Just a tip (you may already know) is to teach svn diff to use -p to
make patches easier to read:

It is just silly that svn doesn't just do this by default...
