I think you need to make it say:

1=Standard

I think capitalizing the "S" will make a difference.  Do you see any
error messages that highlight the problem in your syslog if you turn
on GDM debug (run gdmsetup and click turn on debug on the "Security"
tab) and then restart gdm?  Syslog is usually /var/log/messages or
/var/adm/messages.
