XDMCP dies when queried in LTSP

Hi guys

I am having a serious problem with I suppose is XDMCP.

I have an ltsp.org server and all client computers x
-query the servers XDMCP to get a GDM greeter.

After a varible time into production, all queries are
apparently not handled, logged in users are not logged
out but once they logout, they see a black screen for
a minute and then a text screen complaining that X
cant start and that applies to all querying terminals.

Where can I look for information so we can pin-point
the source of the problem?

The worse problem in this case is that when I took the
problem to LTSP, Jim (ltsp maintainer) told me to
avoid suffering and go to KDM 8(
