Dual configuration files: factory default and gdmsetup-created.

Hi.

I've newbie to this list. :) beg your pardon, if I'm doing wrong.

I use RedHat distro, and whenever rpm -Uvh gdm, the configuration file
reverted to factory default. so I have to redo gdmsetup.

Why don't you put another configuration file, above default file?
gdmsetup just use the above file to save configuration.
Then, rpm -Uvh gdm will never overwrite user-defined configuration.
