Not currently. I think the whole session script system should be reworked
but I lack the time. This needs to be done by coordinating with the kdm
people as well and so it would be good to bring up on the xdg list. Feel
free to also file a bug in bugzilla with this.
Also currently the users choose the session before even having to type their
name, so we can't figure out their group. One 'solution' would be to have
the session script itself recognize the group and work in a different way
depending. That would just be script fiddling and should be doable
currently.

Also not currently possible. Doing so might likely be just too complex
for gdm and likely is not worth the trouble. What's wrong with perhaps
putting up a label on your screen (modifying the theme if using the graphical
greeter, or running some xbanner or some such if using the standard greeter)
that the users should press 'Alt-F1' for a text login. Also why not just
set up a session that runs gnome-terminal in full screen mode?
