join Shipbuilding Fund
Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. (DSME), Samsung Heavy Industries and a few other domestic shipbuilding firms are willing to participate in the
country's first shipbuilding fund.
Officials of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and shipbuilding industry insiders said Korea Investment Trust and Securities (KITS) is promoting the launch of a shipbuilding investment firm by forming a consortium within the year. |

Oil tanker adrift off northern Spain
Oil leaks from stricken oil tanker Prestige, transporting around 77,000
tons of fuel oil, off the north-western Spanish coast near the village of Muxia 14 November 2002. Rescue services in Spain continued to battle to stem a major oil leak from the tanker in trouble off one of Spain's most scenic coastlines.
