I've seena similar report on the bugtracker. I'm not sure exactly what is
happening. For one I would suggest trying the standard gdm rpm rather then
Ximian ones. Second, the person in the previous bugreport said that he has
had more luck when starting gdm from a root login, rather then from init.
Overall this seems more like an X problem.
Do other login managers (kdm, xdm) work fine, that is, is this just gdm?
