Hmmm.... 2.4 has been released sooo long ago (late 2004, right ?).
I guess there are more-or-less no pre-2.4 systems out there running
gDesklets 0.36.x without other problems.
So I would say it shouldn't be a problem to switch to python 2.4+.

Just my 2 cents.
