Formatting dconf settings for scripting

Hi All,

I've been trying to set a list of items using the dconf tools in 3.2.
But i'm unable to figure out the formatting for list in the form of 
['item1','item2'].
I always get an error returned when i pass more then one item, error 0-7 
and 0-4 are the most common ones.

Setting other value types works just fine.

The value's that I’m trying to set are:
['alternative-status-menu gnome-shell-extensions gcampax github com', 
'dock gnome-shell-extensions gcampax github com']

I'm aware that there are gui tools for this. But i explicitly want to do 
this from command line (for configuration management).

Any help, greatly appreciated.
