GConf Sources and notifications.

Hiya folks,

I can't seem to figure out how a GConfSource notifies the main engine
that a value has changed, which is slightly confusing, to say the least.

While I'm writing, has anyone got any bright ideas how to ask the user
for some authentication information from a backend?
