avahi compile issues on x86_64/python 2.4

Hi,

Attempting to compile garnome 2.19.3 on x86_64 and receiving this error :

I've attempted to set both PYTHONPATH and PYTHONHOME to only search
lib64/python../site-packages but have been unsuccessful.

Any help appreciated :)
