Evolution 2.8.x broken. See bug report

The above bug and many many others refer to a problem with evolution and
the trash folder. Apparently, there's a nasty bug which causes evo to
crash with regularity.

I'll be trying out the patch later today, but wanted to alert anyone who's
been frustrated by this to know of the bug. Please post your experience
first if anyone else gets to it before me.
