Hmmm... maybe a sourceforge mirror issue...


I just downloaded expat-2.0.0.tar.gz from a sourceforge mirror:

         % ls -l expat-2.0.0.tar.gz
        -rw-r--r-- 1 jsacco jsacco 450860 May 31 09:48
        expat-2.0.0.tar.gz
        
        % md5sum expat-2.0.0.tar.gz
        d945df7f1c0868c5c73cf66ba9596f3f  expat-2.0.0.tar.gz

The md5sum matches with what is in the checksum file:

        % cat checksums
        d945df7f1c0868c5c73cf66ba9596f3f  download/expat-2.0.0.tar.gz
