Talking about epiphany, I assume?

Hmm, didn't happen to me, and doesn't ring a bell also.

Did you use epiphany before? Could it possible have saved the last
session with multiple windows, now trying to restore it? Which website
did you display, if any? (Going berserk javascript, by any chance?)

FWIW, this doesn't necessarily sound like a virus to me, but either a
bug in the browser code (first time run?) or a badly designed website.
(Pop-up windows, anyone? ;-)

So I take it, building GARNOME again solved this issue? Which version is
this? Also, can you reproduce this? Possibly with a clean testing user
account, who did not start that browser ever before -- if this was the
situation for you. If you can reproduce this, please file a bug against
the relevant application.

Good news: This does not seem to be related to GARNOME. ;-)
