It might :)

My RHEL3 box, for example will build and run GARNOME if I run around and
comment out all of the references to LIBDEPS=hal/dbus in the makefiles,
build, make sure magicdev is installed and then put up with the errors
generated by gnome-volume-manager's attempts to start up.

Having said all that, I haven't actually done anything useful with the
box yet -- it was kind of a 'i'll look after .0' thing, but i'll let the
list know what (if anything) I find out.
