Cairo compilation issues

Dear Gentleman,

I'm having serious issues when trying to compile cairo using garnome :-( 
When compiling it in my base system slackware it works fine but when 
trying to compile cairo within the garnome build system. I get the 
following compilation log:

I have no clue at all what is going wrong. I've got all the dependencies 
I would expect built on my system so why doesn't cairo pick them up :-(
