Dear Paul,
The issue with gnome-applets is described in short in this bug
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=162609. The issue has been
resolved in CVS, maybe I should have told you in my previous email :-(
On the source forge site issue. I've been seeing this already for a few
weeks. It's very strange as their site was very stable for the past. I
guess it might be getting too busy. I'll keep a patch handy for myself
to fix this issue. No problem.
I'm suprised that gftp 2.0.18rc1 doesn't build very well. I'm having no
issues at all. Do you have any idea why it is failing or are you in the
dark on that one. I seem to be unable to download 2.0.17 from the site
that is in the makefile.
Cheers,
Stef

First of all SourceForge seems to be suffering from a download issue
when not using mirror sites. I've therefore pointed the downloads of
fribidi and firestarter to the belnet mirror of sourceforge.
Hopefully that's just a temporary issue though -- so i'll hold off on
applying this.
For gftp I've ourquoted the patch gar-base.diff as this patch fails on
gftp-2.0.18rc1. The version in the release no longer gets pulled
successfully from the sourceforge site.
I've *never* been able to get 2.0.18rc1 or CVS to compile on anything
earlier than Fedora Core 2 for some reason, so that's why gFTP is still
on 2.0.17 + the 'just the fixes needed to stop users yelling at me'
patch.
I've downgraded gnome-applets to 2.9.3 as 2.9.3.1 doesn't compile
successfully. My previous update had 2.9.3.1 in there.
Odd.
Do you have a log of the compile you can send me off-list?
Regards,
Paul
