Seems like a question you should ask the gnome-db guys. Last line from
'configure --help':
  Report bugs to <gnome-db-list gnome org>

IIRC libgda needs at least one backend to be built. Maybe the MySQL
backend is the default, if nothing else was found?

To see the final 'configure' report, which lists enabled database
backends, 'cd office/libgda', run 'make clean' [1] and then run 'make
configure' to stop after configure stage and not start building right
away.


FWIW, GARNOME does not add any related switches to the CONFIGURE_ARGS by
default for libgda.
