A guess: your gst-register is calling unsuitable libraries (eg. ones
from your distribution, instead of Garnome ones), or some of the
plugins messes up.  Try `ldd $GARNOME/bin/gst-register' to see what
libraries it uses.  You may also play with option
"--gst-disable-segtrap".

Otherwise, you may need to use gdb on gst-register.
