freedesktop.org has changed its "/Software" path to "/software", i.e. the
uppercase "S" has become a lowercase "s". Fix the problem like this:

   Go to the top-level directory: /path/to/garnome-2.8.1
   Go to the subdirectory: bootstrap/shared-mime-info
   Edit the file: Makefile
   Find the line: MASTER_SITES = http://freedesktop.org/Software/$(GARNAME)/
   Change the uppercase "S" in "/Software" to a lowercase "s".

Then go back (probably to the "desktop" subdirectory) and continue your build.
