OK, it appears that as of the _next_ version of GStreamer, mpeg2dec
0.4.0 or better is now a requirement -- see:
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=140668

So your best bet to fix this problem is to find a slackware package for
mpeg2dec 0.4.0 and install (or upgrade) it, then run 'make clean' and
'make install' in desktop/gst-plugins to correct the issue.
