Can anyone tell me what > I'm doing wrong or how to fix it? It's because (some of?) the Gnome servers are being relocated, so the home directories are not available. The problem will go away when the machines are back online. When the Garnome website is back up, this will work. In the mean time, you can remove $(SPLASH_IMAGE) from the DISTFILES variable in gnome-session's Makefile and remove the PATCHFILES line. That will give you vanilla splash screen instead of the funky Garnome one. /Jens
