I'm using Mandrake and GDM at home with Garnome like this:

in /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions I have script Garnome (must be chmod 755!),
which is basically "garnome-session" script.

GDM is run from init (I use mandrakes's GDM).

When user selects "Garnome" (named after script in Sessions/) session,
it will work.

Can you try this please?
