Evolution Data Server not building

Hello,

I rebuilt garnome stable (2.6.1) on debian sarge. desktop/ went very
smoothly. evolution-data-server refuses to build because of a slightly
to old libsoup in debian sarge, apparently:

checking for libsoup-2.2 >= 2.1.11... Requested 'libsoup-2.2 >= 2.1.11'
but version of libsoup is 2.1.10

configure: error: Library requirements (libsoup-2.2 >= 2.1.11) not met;
consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your
libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them.
make[1]: ***
[configure-work/main.d/evolution-data-server-0.0.94/configure] Error 1

Evolution-data-server is being build as a LIBDEP of Gaim - does this
need to be the case?
Can I remove the LIBDEP savely? AFAIK, there is 'only' a plugin
depending on evo...
