I get the Bonobo error as well. In fact, I haven't gotten a working
build of Evolution since I started using Garnome (versions 0.25.1,
0.26.1, or 0.26.2 all failed in various ways). This isn't necessarily
Garnome's fault, of course -- there may be some underlying problem in my
system -- but it's not at all obvious where to look for solutions.
In any case, your symptom (and mine) for this build seems to match this
bug report:
http://bugzilla.ximian.com/show_bug.cgi?id=47610
although there's no response from Ximian yet on it. You might want to
add a comment there so that they know multiple people are getting the
same error.
Unless someone on the garnome list has more suggestions, my next attempt
is going to be RPM-based - RedHat has an Evolution 1.4.3 RPM as part of
the "severn" beta version.

Hello there,
Since 0.26.1 Evolution keeps crashing on startup.
This was reported before and no body has an answer
about it. I got the following message:
[william lovaton william]$ evolution-1.4
(evolution-1.4:2680): evolution-shell-CRITICAL **:
file e-storage-set.c: line 639
(e_storage_set_get_folder): assertion
`g_path_is_absolute (path)' failed
Bonobo-ERROR **: Attempt to instantiate
non-Bonobo/Unknown derived object via. BonoboObject

Trace/breakpoint trap
What is happening here? is there a solution to make it
work? This is something very bad, I need my mail back
:-(
Thanks in advance,
-William
