5.x?
I think must compile without any problem.
Why you do not want to use gnome 2.4 from ports?
From FAQ:
----------------------
What is the best way to upgrade from GNOME 2.2 to GNOME 2.4?
We recommend to use /usr/ports/sysutils/portupgrade for such purpose.
This will do the job well:
# pkgdb -F
(answer yes to all prompts)
# portupgrade ORBit2 libbonobo
# portupgrade -rf -m BATCH=yes atk
# portupgrade -R -m BATCH=yes gnome2
----------------------
P.S. http://www.freebsd.org/gnome more information about gnome on FreeBSD.
