Subject: libesmtp and libltdl issues on YDL 2.3
I was going to install balsa on my Yellowdog machine, but it appears
that it requires libesmtp which relies on libltdl (libtool)...which is
installed in two places now. /usr/lib and /opt/gnome2/lib . libesmtp
fails with the configure script saying it can't find libltdl but it's
right there in the most common place. Is this a gcc2.95 issue? I've
looked into upgrading to gcc-3.2, but this looks complicated and
intimidating.
Here's the error I get...
creating libtool
checking for library containing dlsym... no
checking for library containing lt_dlsym... no
configure: error: libltdl not found (available from
http://www.gnu.org/software/libtool/)
make[1]: *** [configure-work/main.d/libesmtp-1.0/configure] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/home/sesser/Devel/garnome-0.21.2/misc/libesmtp'
make: *** [../../misc/libesmtp/cookies/main.d/install] Error 2
Any ideas?
Thanks
r.
