Re: ORBit compile problems (GCC3/Solaris 9)

GCC 3.3 using Solaris 9 binutils. I looked back through all of my build logs, and found many circumstances where software was looking for automake 1.4, but my toolchain uses v1.7.2.

I suspect that this might be part of the problem, but who knows... There are so many utilities in the bootstrap dir that aren't built as part of the normal build process... are they required versions, or are they there to assist those without the right stuff installed. My build tool versions are:

automake 1.7.2
autoconf 2.57 (same as 0.25.1 bootstrap)
libtool 1.4.3 (same as 0.25.1 bootstrap)
bison 1.875 (0.25.1 specifies 1.32)

Also, the bootstrap dir has automake 1.4, 1.6 and 1.7 -- does this mean that some software will not build unless all of these versions are available?

Any ideas on how to get around this?

I am having some difficulty in getting the components of ORBit2 to compile without modifications to GARNOME Makefiles.

I also had a problem compiling ORBit2 in GARNOME 0.24.2. No problems
with 0.25.1 though.
