compile problem libbonoboui

Dear All,

I seem to have a weird problem when compiling garnome 0.21 and 
libbonoboui. During the compile it complains that it can't find 
gdk-pixbuf version 0.12 or higher. I've compiled gdk-pixbuf  0.22  to 
make sure that I would meet  the dependency but this was to no avail. 
Can  sombody give me a pointer where to look thanks.
