Garnome Wont Start

I compiled garnome 0.18.3 yesterday and now when I try to start garnome it
shows the spash screen but then it stops, any idea on what I can do to 
get it
to log in?  Im using gdm that had already been installed.  I set up the
session file so that my PATH would be set to ~/garnome/bin along with the
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/~/garnome/lib.
