gdm in garnome-0.18.0

Hi,

Has anyone gotten gdm to work with garnome-0.18.0?  I finally got gnome
to work properly (if I start from xdm or startx).  Gdm compiles
correctly and  I set it up exactly as in 0.17.1... but every time I try
to run it X constantly reboots and the syslog give no real information
other than "child died" or something like that.
