Use the now-standard GNOME versioning guidelines...

'cos most GNOME platform/desktop stuff is moving that way, and shifting
GARNOME to matching release numbers makes things clearer when we have two
branches running (as we do now, stable 2.0.x and unstable 2.1.x).

List isn't dead, but it's a fine line between whether this is appropriate
list or bugzilla discussion. Personally, I dislike having "discussions" in
bugzilla, but then it all gets posted to the list anyway. ;-)
