./configure error

I'm trying to compile garnome-0.10.1.  However, when it gets to
gnome-vfs, I get an error in the configure script (see below).  To be
honest, I've got no idea what the problem is.  I'm using gcc-3.1 on
Mandrake 8.2.  Why would the configure script suddenly crap out when
I've got this far through the install?

Any help appreciated.
