glib, gtk+, GConf fail on linux-ppc with --enable-debug=no

Thanks for the new release!

It's just that glib, gtk+, GConf don't want to compile with
--enable-debug=no.
I didn't find anything about this problem in bugzilla (for glib) but I'm
not really familiar with that tool (that's why I post it here).
This is probably NOT a new bug, it only hit me 'cause I built from
scratch today.
