garnome, kdm and SuSE

Hi,
I am a SuSE 7.3 user and would like either of these two options:
- install gdm instead of kdm (SuSE default) and add garnome
- add garnome to kdm

Until now I did not succeed in the second, the first I only looked
shortly at, because it seems to be quite complicated.
I found some settings in kdmrc, but that is clearly not enough. I
suppose I have to edit some systemwide .xinit / xsession script.

Who helps?
