Yeah, that did it for me. I don't have any speakers or anything at work,
but EOG doesn't complain at startup like it used to.
This should be posted in the FAQ, methinks.

went to garnome-0.10.6/gnome/esound
added --disable-alsa to the CONFIGURE-ARGS in Makefile
make clean; make install
So how come I'm the only potatoe with that problem? Is everyone else
running alsa and I'm missing out on something?
