Hm, have you downloaded tar.gz's or tar.bz2's? I think, garnome dl's the
bz2's, even if the gz's are available locally. I /think/ this is set
with the DISTFILES entry in the garball makefiles (i.e.,
garnome-0.12.0/gnome/*/Makefile)
